LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA –\u00a0Jurowski Conducts Verdi’s Requiem<\/h1>\n

Verdi\u2019s great masterpiece, his Requiem, performed by the one of the world\u2019s greatest orchestras \u2013 London Philharmonic orchestra conducted by\u00a0Vladimir Jurowski\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

The choice of soloists is impeccable, as it should be \u2013 this is one of Verdi\u2019s more demanding vocal scores, and perhaps the most demanding vocal score of any oratorio ever written.<\/p>\n

A feast of Latin jazz in the 606 club<\/b><\/h1>\n

Samara + Liliana Chachian<\/b><\/p>\n

Samara is a six piece jazz\/latin band lead by the brilliant vocalist\u00a0Nicky Schrire<\/b>, born in South Africa and raised and trained in New York.<\/p>\n

She is joined by one of the best Brazillian vocalist working in Europe, Liliana Chachian,\u00a0And playing with them are the pianist Neil Angiley, bass player Dill Katz, drummer Nic France, and percussionist Dawson Miller \u2013 all of which are some of the hottest musicians on the British jazz scene.<\/p>\n

This promises to be a truly exciting and fun evening, and in a venue socked with jazz history.<\/p>\n

Monet \u2013 The Water Garden at Giverny in the\u00a0National Gallery\u00a0<\/b><\/h1>\n

\nThis is the first time the National Gallery\u2019s collection of Monet\u2019s Giverny painting are shown together and the effect is breath taking.<\/p>\n

Monet started working on these panting around the time of the First World War, a time of personal tragedy for him: he lost his wife and son and his eyesight started declining. This is truly reflected in the depth of melancholic expression of these paintings, their sad and somewhat mysterious nature.<\/p>\n

Free admission, No need to book \u2013 just go! And if you can during the week, this rooms gets very busy over the weekend.<\/p>\n
